5:30am is REALLY early.

The bike has been dusted off. I found my bike shoes buried in a box of gear. The trainer has been set up in front of the TV in the basement...let the training begin. Its damn cold and dark outside so for the next few weeks the training is taking place in front of Sports Center. You can never get enough Kobe highlights and with Tiger back in the hunt I can ride and watch forever.

Help The Cause.

I'm training to complete a 100 mile bike ride as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. The goal for Team In Training is to raise funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of my Dad who passed away from Lymphoma this past March, as well all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

The training for this event over the next 4 months will be grueling, but the pain and suffering I will experience is NOTHING compared to that which my Dad and millions of cancer patients face each day. This is my motivation!

I made a personal commitment to raise $5,000 prior to my ride on June 7th. Please help support me in this challenge by contributing generously to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The process is simple – please visit my fundraising website to make a secure online donation: http://pages.teamintraining.org/rm/ambbr09/hcrawford or you can send a check to me, 5906 Windemere Rd. Loveland, CO 80537 made payable to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. All donations are tax-deductible.

Getting Started

Yesterday was the Denver area Team in Training kick-off meeting. It was an incredibly inspiring event. The purpose of this meeting was to orient all TnT participants for all upcoming events on what to expect as we begin this amazing adventure. My first team ride will be next Saturday, February 14th. To get started, I just purchased a staionary bike trainer to get some indoor time in the saddle while the weather in Colorado is still less than perfect for outdoor bike riding. Thanks for checking in.
